Red Black Tree is a technical consulting and development firm based in Northern Virginia. We have been in business since 2005 and our specialty is in software development infrastructure and process improvement. We provide vital technical resources such as infrastructure architects, build automation engineers, agile coaches and project managers. Traditionally, there has been a gap between development teams and systems support teams (operations); it is our mission to fill this gap and to become the bridge to improving development infrastructure through build automation and related processes. Our diverse portfolio of clients includes government agencies, non-profits, large corporations and small start-ups.

Our Approach
Our typical engagements start with gaining insight into our customers' challenges and their technology stacks. A pilot project can serve this purpose really well, as mentioned above. We then make sure that the toolset is fit to meet the challenges at hand. Then we move into reviewing or helping set business goals such as efficiency, productivity, risk and cost management. Based on these business goals we craft a roadmap of where the customer would like to see their build and deployment system evolve within 6 months and 1 year. After we present this roadmap, we work with the customer backwards from the goals to see what needs to be accomplished today and in the next couple of months to achieve the goals outlined in the roadmap. We've seen this "work backwards" approach to yield great results for most organizations because it combines the long term goals with the short-term tasks. It also provides our customers with the ability to see and differentiate between the seemingly urgent and the really important.
When it comes to engineering infrastructure, there is rarely two customers that share the same processes or tools. What matters most is to have a core set of principles that have proven to deliver key results such as risk reduction, consistency, cost efficiency, etc. We are confident that our company possesses the experience and process maturity needed to apply these principles into some of your or your customers' challenges.
